COMMUNITY SPIRIT / STUDENT INVOLVEMENT
As part of the 'Community of Character' initiative, staff and students continue to support the positive atmosphere at North Gower-Marlborough Public School, in class and on the playground, through the reinforcement of universal values (respect, honesty, responsibility and fairness). We ensure mechanisms are in place for intervention, prevention and support to students, staff and the school community. We will continue to ensure that character development is embedded in all that we do. With these efforts, our school will continue to be a safe and caring learning environment.
The students at North Gower-Marlborough P.S. participate in a variety of activities to augment life at the school and in the community. They have initiated responses to community needs and global conditions through the Spirit Club and a grade 5 program entitled "Who is Nobody." In one year, the students spearheaded the following causes school-wide: Unicef Jar Walk, local food drive, Toy Mountain, World Vision and the Cure Foundation. School life is enhanced via intramural and interschool sports, choir and the Spirit Club.
